Those oriental examinations are categorized as basic (Prarambha), intermediate (Madyama) and general degree final (Panditha).

Providing opportunity to study “Grantha Wisharada Degree” for those who have passed the Oriental Final Degree.

Revision of classic Sinhala books and publishing them.

Teaching for the improvement of subject knowledge of the candidates who are preparing for the oriental examinations.

Printing and publishing any kind of research books submitted for that purpose and also the poetic creations submitted in any one of the three languages after receiving the approval from the education board.

Publishing of annual scholastic magazine.

Publishing various academic articles written by scholars belonging to the field of oriental subjects in it and Sinhala, Pali and Sanskrit poetic creations.

Issuing the certificates to the persons who passed the basic (Prarambha), intermediate (Madyama) and general degree final (Panditha) examinations. 

Confirming the oriental examination results inquired by the zonal offices.
