Mr. A.J.S.S. Edirisooriya is working as the Additional Secretary (Establishment) of the Ministry of Education. Mr. Edirisooriya is an officer of Sri Lanka Administrative Service Special Grade with an experience of 24 years as an administrative officer and with a service period of 31 years in state sector. He started his service as Assistant Commissioner of Cooperative Development in the Southern Province and later worked as the Assistant Divisional Secretary of Kotte Sri Jayawardanapura. As a class one officer he has served as the Divisional Secretary of Maharagama and a Director of Management Service Department of the Ministry of Finance and as an officer in special grade he has served in the capacity of Additional Secretary of the State Ministry of Mahaweli Development and as the Director General of the Department of Sports Development.   

Mr. Edirisooriya is also an arts graduate of Kelaniya University and has obtained the vocational qualification as an Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court after studying Law at Sri Lanka Law College. Furthermore, he is a holder of post-graduate qualification on state administration from Sri Lanka Institution of Development Administration.
