Preparing the syllabuses relating to agricultural subjects at G.C.E. O. Level) and G.C.E. (A. Level) and forwarding recommendations to the National Institute of Education for revisions and providing contribution for the purpose.

Implementation and monitoring the subjects in the field of Bio-System Technology  in new Technology subject stream at G.C.E. (A. Level).  

Implementation of remedial programs for improving the results of the subject Agricultural Bio-System Technology.

Conducting capacity building programs for Agriculture Education Officers, Agriculture In-Service Advisors and Agriculture teachers and providing necessary training opportunities.

Planning, organizing and implementation of practical agriculture programs at national level.

Organizing and conducting school based agricultural programs according to the national agriculture policies.

Implementation of subject related distance education programs.

Conducting agriculture exhibitions and competitions at provincial and national levels.

Following environment studies programs for national level environment protection.

• Observation and data analysis for environmental studies for the purpose of environment wellbeing. (Globe Environment Education Program)
